Refurbishment of approximately 300 m² in the tipping area of the Mapei plant in Mediglia (MI) , using the Mapefloor CPU polyurethane cement system with a non-slip surface. The work was scheduled over the weekend to minimize disruption to logistics operations: work began Friday evening, was completed Saturday, and the area was reopened for traffic on Monday morning.
Refurbishment of the flooring in the tipping area
The affected area is subject to daily traffic from forklifts and goods handling vehicles. The areas near the loading docks are among the most stressed areas of a logistics facility, where mechanical resistance, grip, and pavement continuity are crucial.

Polyurethane cement flooring: Substrate preparation and application cycle
The substrate was prepared using mechanical shot blasting to create a suitable surface for the application of the new coating. The process then included primer, quartz, and the Mapefloor CPU polyurethane cement system , creating a seamless flooring with a non-slip finish, designed for heavy forklift and cargo handling traffic.
A planned intervention to reduce logistics downtime
In an operational department, construction site duration is crucial. Therefore, the work was scheduled for the weekend: work began Friday evening, was completed Saturday, and the area was reopened for traffic on Monday morning . This schedule allowed for the renovation of approximately 300 m² of industrial flooring, limiting disruption to the plant's normal operations.
